Your LSCO Gateway Academic Advisor builds your course schedule each semester based on your TSI scores and degree plan. Your TXST advisor coordinates alongside to make sure every credit transfers cleanly and your path to your Texas State degree stays on track.

The Gateway Online Group on Canvas LMS was created to provide a supportive network and help you identify resources at Texas State University (TXST) and Lamar State College Orange (LSCO). You'll have access to:
Gateway 2.0 allows eligible Gateway students to continue taking courses through Lamar State College Orange (LSCO) while remaining enrolled at Texas State University. The program helps students continue making progress toward their Texas State degree by earning transferable credits and earning hours for an LSCO associate degree through co-enrollment.
Gateway students who successfully meet program requirements (after two long semesters) are invited to participate in Gateway 2.0. Generally, students who have not completed their 42 hours of core curriculum coursework can still co-enroll with LSCO as part of this program. Students who have completed their core curriculum or lower-division coursework may not have coursework remaining to enroll in with LSCO and may not be eligible for Gateway 2.0. Please email gateway@txstate.edu to explore your options.
Yes. Gateway 2.0 participants remain Texas State students as long as they are also enrolled in TXST courses. You will continue to have access to your Texas State student account, email, advising support, and other university resources.

As a co-enrolled student, you are enrolled at Texas State University while also taking approved courses through LSCO. Credits earned at LSCO are evaluated and applied toward your Texas State degree requirements according to established transfer and articulation guidelines.
Students are encouraged to take courses that align with their Texas State degree plan, including core curriculum courses and major prerequisites. Your academic advisor will help you select appropriate courses each semester. Courses currently available include:
Yes, with planning. Gateway 2.0 is designed to help students take courses that support progress toward a Texas State degree. Students should work closely with their TXST academic advisor to ensure selected courses meet bachelor’s degree requirements.

Yes. Gateway 2.0 students continue to receive advising support from Texas State. Advisors will assist with course planning, academic progress, and preparation for future enrollment in additional Texas State coursework.

Yes! Students continuing into Gateway 2.0 can apply to be Gateway Ambassadors with an award of up to $4,000. Gateway Ambassadors assist the professional staff in the Gateway program and support student outreach. Students can apply here: Gateway 2 Ambassador Scholarship Form
