Complete the checklist below to confirm your offer, set up your accounts, and prepare for your upcoming semester.
Admitted Student Check List
Follow these steps in order to ensure a smooth transition into the TXST-LSCO Gateway Program. Complete each requirement directly through your student portals.

Confirm Your Gateway Offer | Log in to your Future Bobcat Portal to accept your offer to the LSCO Gateway Program. Accepting your offer officially secures your spot in the incoming class and initiates your student profiles. | |
Set Up Your Institutional Accounts | Activate both your TXST and LSCO digital accounts to ensure seamless access to university systems and communication: • TXST Account: Set up your TXST NetID and password to activate your official BobcatMail. • LSCO Account (Step A): Set your LSCO Computer Account Initial Password. • LSCO Account (Step B): Register your mobile device for DUO Multi-Factor Authentication. • LSCO Account (Step C): Log in to MyGator (www.lsco.edu) to verify your student portal access. | |
Submit FAFSA & Military Benefits (if applicable) | • FAFSA / TASFA: If you haven't already, submit your financial aid application listing Texas State University (School Code: 003615) as your primary institution. • Military & Veteran Benefits: Students using military education benefits must submit certification requests and supporting documentation to both TXST Veteran Affairs and LSCO Veteran Services. | |
Submit TSI Scores | You must submit TSI scores to be registered for the correct classes. | |
Submit Meningitis Vaccination Record | This must be received by TXST at least 10 days before classes begin, or students will be dropped from classes. | |
Register & Attend Gateway NSO | Register for your Gateway New Student Orientation (NSO) session. Prior to attending NSO, make sure you can log into MyGator to resolve any technical questions with our staff. 💡 Important During NSO: Set up email forwarding from your LSCO email to your TXST BobcatMail so all critical updates land in one inbox. | |
Complete New Bobcat Enrollment Profile | Once you have signed up for NSO, you will have access to the New Bobcat Enrollment Profile. This is used to determine the courses you will take during your first semester. Exploratory Advising will enroll you in your TXST course (Bobcat Beginnings) and then the LSCO Advisor will enroll you in the rest of your courses (Core Curriculum with LSCO). 💡 Important note: All Gateway students will remain exploratory majors while in the program. | |
Schedule Building | Once your New Bobcat Profile is generated by TXST, your information is sent directly to Gateway Academic Advisor at LSCO. Advisor Vanarsdel will review your latest TSI scores and evaluate the best course sequence for your degree plan. Your finalized schedule will be posted and viewable in MyGator. |
How Financial Aid & Billing Work in Gateway
1.Integrated Aid Awarding: Texas State processes your financial aid using an internal Gateway indicator that accounts for your LSCO course load.
2. Aid Applied to TXST First: Your awarded financial aid automatically applies to any active balances on your Texas State account first.
3. Refund Disbursement via Direct Deposit: Any remaining financial aid funds are disbursed directly to you. We strongly recommend setting up Direct Deposit in your TXST ePay account so your refund reaches your bank account as quickly as possible.
4. Settle LSCO Balance in TouchNet: Once you receive your refund, log into MyGator (www.lsco.edu), navigate to TouchNet, and pay your LSCO tuition and fee balance.
